Twins are 18 months today!

What a blessing to have cared for these boys - our sons - for the past 18 months. They have come so far, and we are SO proud of them.

Recently the Eccher twins (whose parents are our good friends) had first birthday party! They turned one on August 28. Here we all are at their birthday celebration. We didn't mean to match, by the way.

Brett's Procedure

Brett's procedure was completely successfully. During his bronchoscopy, they saw that his airways are clear and there is actually less inflammation than there usually is. (I think this was his 5th bronch.) There were hardly any thick secretions! This was GREAT news. They did culture one spot on each lung to see if any pseudomonas grows. We'll know about that next week.

Additionally, Brett got his port-a-cath!! We are super excited about it. I wasn't really counting on it, but Brett's surgeon is amazing, and he got it done. This is going to be so much better for Brett.

Sickness

Rob had the cough first, and now Gantt is experiencing a runny nose and a dry, croupy cough. He had one dose of steroids at the doctor's office, just to help his lung inflammation calm down. They think it is a virus, and hopefully he is already on the mend. We pray that they both get better soon, and that this illness ends with Rob and Gantt, and that the rest of us don't get sick as well - particularly Brett, of course. We want him to be able to have his central line placed this Thursday, and if he gets sick, the procedure will have to be postponed.
