Deep Sea Fishing

Rob and Mark went deep sea fishing off the North Carolina coast. It was Mark's first time, and he had a blast!
This was Rob's 47 lb. Amberjack. Mark and Rob both were pretty excited about that.

Mark with Captain Matt and Mark's first fish ever! It was a bluefish that they used as bait to catch Rob's amberjack.

Mark's smile in this photo says it all. He had such a good time.
Mark caught this fish and just reached down and picked it up without warning! He had gotten quite brave over the course of the day!

And of course, Mark got a turn at driving the boat back to shore.

Topsail Island

I apologize for the lack of regular posting this past week. But I had a good excuse! Besides having Mark's birthday last Wednesday, we were getting ready to go on a weekend trip to Topsail Island, North Carolina. We met several other families there for a Chick-fil-A get-together.

Thanks to GG and Pop (again), we were able to go for the weekend with just the 3 of us. Rob took Mark deep sea fishing on Saturday. Of course, I could've used my alone time on Saturday working on the blog, but I slept instead! I slept a full night basically until 10 am, then got up and read a little, then went back to sleep until 2 pm, when Rob and Mark got back from fishing! Then Mark and I went to the beach and pool and played around while Rob took an afternoon nap. It was some much needed rest. I was sad when it was over, but we were happy to see our babies again. Check back tomorrow for some great fishing photos!
